Pinar Seyhan Demirdag is an A.I. director, multidisciplinary creator, and an outspoken advocate for the conscious use of technology. In 2020, Pinar has co-founded the A.I. studio Seyhan Lee with her partner Gary Koepke. The firm has become the bridge between the cutting-edge science of creative A.I. and the world of entertainment. At the core of the company’s mission lies in developing and perfecting conscious use of technology for the immersive new world, and it’s a mission of all of their projects to expand mindfulness and possibilities for the meaningful elation of humanity through technology.
Pinar has always used creative storytelling to bring future technologies into the collective consciousness. She was one of the first creatives to use face-tracking technology for her Diplo music video in 2011, she created the world’s first XR catwalk for a virtual fashion line in 2016, and in 2018 she became one of the world’s first A.I. artists when Google made a unique tool for her to create with artificial intelligence.
Pinar’s work resides in the permanent collections of Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, the New Museum, New York, and Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara. She won D&AD in VFX Emerging Realities in 2021 for Seyhan Lee’s A.I. film Connections for Beko. She writes and speaks passionately on how humans will remain relevant in the age of A.I. and has previously appeared at conferences such as SXSW, Google I/O, Eyeo Festival, TEDx, and others.
